Where compassion becomes action
Strength of a Woman was created from a belief that music can open conversations, stories can reduce isolation, and caring communities can help save lives.
Promoting healing, hope, and awareness
The Strength of a Woman is dedicated to promoting mental health awareness, suicide prevention, healing, and hope through education, advocacy, music, and community outreach.
Inspired by the life and legacy of legendary vocalist Phyllis Hyman, who tragically lost her life in 1995, our mission is to support individuals and families affected by mental health challenges by creating safe spaces for conversation, encouragement, spiritual upliftment, and access to resources.
Through partnerships with mental health organizations, music ministry initiatives, and annual fundraising concerts, we strive to break the stigma surrounding mental illness while honoring the memories of artists and individuals whose lives were impacted by suicide and mental health struggles.
A future where no one suffers in silence
The vision of Strength of a Woman is to build a compassionate and empowered community where mental health is openly discussed, support is accessible, and no individual suffers in silence.
We envision a future where music, faith, advocacy, and community collaboration work together to inspire healing, prevent suicide, and celebrate the lives and legacies of artists such as Phyllis Hyman and others whose stories continue to encourage awareness, understanding, and hope for generations to come.
